3. “Clean Up Your Messâ€
I remember times when I just saw the ‘mess’ and not the engrossed play. I remember the dejected looks when I asked them to clean up their mess. They were not upset at the cleaning but that their creative time had been cut short. I later learned to allow them to keep the ‘mess’ around until their interests led elsewhere. Then it was ok to have them clean and put away.
